Writing under a deadline without tripping a detector

An essay written in one sitting at 2am is not the same as an essay run through a chatbot, even though both can come out more uniform than a piece drafted over a week.

Why rushed writing can score similarly to generated writing

Under time pressure, people tend to reach for familiar phrasing and keep a steadier sentence rhythm than they would with time to revise — the same features a detector reads as signals. That is a real overlap, not a flaw in your writing.

What still sets honest rushed writing apart

Specific, concrete detail tied to the actual assignment is hard to produce quickly without understanding the material, whether or not the prose around it is polished. A rushed essay that is still specific and engaged reads differently from one that is fluent but generic.

If you know you’re cutting it close, keep the trail anyway

Even a messy, last-minute writing session in a document with version history is worth more than a clean one with none — see checking your own writing for why that trail matters more than how polished the result looks.

Read your own score in that context

If you check your own writing and it comes back mid-range after a rushed session, that is consistent with time pressure, not necessarily with anything else. Note the context for yourself in case it comes up later.
